Worships Zakat
Zakat Payment in Advance
Question:- A few of my relatives are eligible for receiving Zakat. I calculate my annual Zakat in the month of Ramadan which is six months away. Can I pay my Zakat in advance to them? Will this be counted as Zakat? Or it will become Sadqa and I would need to repay my Zakat after Ramadan?
Answer:- It is permissible for a person, who is liable to pay Zakat, to pay it in advance. It will be counted as Zakat and there will be no need to repay it after it becomes due.
